Hollywood queen Angelina Jolie has chicken pox. (We're not joking.)
The 39-year-old actress appeared in a short YouTube video posted on Friday saying she will be missing upcoming press events for her film Unbroken because of the viral infection.
The incongruity between the screen goddess' image and the unglamorous illness makes us want to burst into guffaws.
No, we're not happy that she's ill. It's just nice to know Hollywood royalty aren't immune to illnesses that plague the common folk.
"I just wanted to be clear and honest about why I will be missing the Unbroken events in the next few days, which is that I found out last night that I have chicken pox," she said.
"I will be home itching and missing everyone, and I can’t believe it," she said with a laugh, adding: "but such is life."
The video has more than 2.6 million views.
Jolie directed the World War II epic Unbroken about Louis Zamperini, who competed in the 5,000m race at the 1936 Olympics in Berlin before becoming a bombardier in the war.
She is married to actor-filmmaker Brad Pitt and they have six children together.
It was unclear whether anyone else in the family was infected with chicken pox.
