Emma Watson is Belle in Beauty and the Beast. But who should play the beast?
The live-action version of Disney's Beauty And The Beast has found its perfect Belle - Emma Watson.
We can't think of anyone better for the role.
And clearly the Harry Potter actress is excited.
Hollywood Reporter says that the film will be directed by The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Parts 1 and 2 director Bill Condon and is set to begin production later this year.
But every Belle needs her Beast, and with that role un-cast so far So far, here are our top picks for the juicy (if hairy) role.
1) Joaqin Phoenix
Is it just us or can he pull off any and every type of hairstyle? From wild shag to slicked back or oily emperor.
The look above (from his latest film Inherent Vice) could easily be transferred to play the beast. And the one below can be his princley post-beast look. Not bad huh?
2) Zach Galifianakis
The comedian set tongues wagging when he appeared at the Screen Actors' Guild Awards this past weekend. He looked slimmer and even sported the trendiest accessory of the year - the man bun. And well, these are the things that Beast sports right?
3) Justin Bieber
Before you start hammering your keyboards demanding that we remove Bieber's name, take a moment to consider how well he could fit the role of Beast. We reckon the Beast will be a partially CGI creation and Bieber is no stranger to digital alteration as the commotion over his Calvin Klein shoot proved (Of course, we mean that someone digitally altered his body, and package, to look smaller. In no way do we mean that he was manipulated to look bigger and more muscular.
The Beast is also known to have an ugly attitude - and we know who has that locked down.
4) Harry Styles
The hair is wild enough for Beast and given the many rumours of amorous escapades, selling him as a romantic character would not be hard.
Come on, Disney. A joint audience of Potter and 1D fanatics? Surely that's too much to resist. But wait, we have one last killer suggestion....
5) Meryl Streep
Ah, the queen. She has played everything from the Iron Lady Margaret Thatcher to a witch. So why not the Beast? She's probably the only actor who could get an Oscar nomination for it.
Meryl for Beast!
