Movie Review: Assassination (NC16)
This South Korean espionage movie set in the 1930s during Japan's colonial rule of Korea revolves around Ahn Ok Yun (A-list actress Gianna Jun), a top sniper who is tasked to lead a team of freedom fighters from Manchuria to Seoul to assassinate a few Japanese leaders.
However, complications arise when they realise one of them is secretly working for the Japanese and giving their plans away.
Jun's acting is top of her game, as she convincingly portrays a tough, heartless soldier bent on revenge.
The massive period sets of old Shanghai and Seoul are also a highlight, while the gunfire-riddled action will keep you on the edge.
