Heard to victims: You are not alone
US actress Amber Heard penned a heartfelt essay about domestic violence in the December issue of Porter magazine.
"You are not alone. You may have suffered alone behind closed doors, but you are not alone," wrote Heard, who is in the last steps of finalising her divorce to Johnny Depp.
"When a woman comes forward to speak out about injustice or her suffering, instead of aid, respect and support, she will be met with hostility, scepticism and shame. Her motives will be questioned and her truth ignored."
She said "it takes real strength to come forward" and "it isn't easy to... stand up for yourself and your truth, and to do it alone."
