Zoe Saldana has not been setting her phasers to stun for the Star Trek Beyond promo tour, but it looks like she got herself an upgrade at the last minute
ZOE SALDANA (A-)
Press conference for Star Trek Beyond in Beijing
Gown: Burberry
Shoes: Christian Louboutin
Black heels would've made the retro futuristic vibe perfect, but her choice of what's essentially a velvet motherboard - and for someone playing communications officer Uhura, no less - is on-the-nose sci-fi theme-dressing. This is what "boldly going" truly means.
ELLE FANNING (B)
Variety's Power of Young Hollywood event in Los Angeles
Gown and shoes: Marc Jacobs
A little girl's jewellery box just threw up its contents on her. But Fanning, whom we all know by now has been bestowed with superhero style powers, can turn potential train wrecks into kooky, whimsical flights of fancy.
SOFIA BLACK-D'ELIA (B-)
Premiere of Ben-Hur in Los Angeles
Gown: Emanuel Ungaro
Shoes: Nicholas Kirkwood
I have no idea who she is, but I appreciate when unknowns put in the effort to glam it up and rise to the occasion.
ARIEL WINTER (C)
Variety's Power of Young Hollywood event in Los Angeles
Pantsuit: Alice + Olivia
Shoes: Stuart Weitzman
Nothing is wrong with this slutty ringmaster ensemble per se, but unless you want to be mistaken for one of the KarJenners, curvy women need to understand there's no shame in going up a size.
ANDRA DAY (D)
Premiere of Ben-Hur in Los Angeles
Dress: Not known
Nothing screams "Look at my boobs!" louder than a contrasting jacquard panel right across the chest area. So congrats, Andra Day, I've done just that and will pretend that never happened.

KEKE PALMER
FOX Summer TCA Press Tour in Los Angeles, Aug 8
Pantsuit: Baja East
Shoes: Chiara Ferragni
Women in Technology and Politics dinner in San Francisco, Aug 16
Bodysuit and trousers: ALIX
Shoes: Jerome C Rousseau
There's finally light at the end of the style tunnel for Palmer. For someone who has been on worst-dressed lists for the past few months courtesy of her questionable choices - including what's got to be glorified silk pyjamas here - the actress-singer turns a corner and wows in white. It's clean and chic, simple yet stunning. I'm totally feeling her pixie cut, too.
