Tyra Banks tears up over fertility problems

As one of the hosts on US talk show FABLife, Tyra Banks was listening to co-host and fellow model Chrissy Teigen talk about her fertility troubles.

Teigen, 29, who has been married to pop star John Legend since 2013, revealed that she has had trouble trying to get pregnant.

Teigen's revelations inspired Banks to open up for the first time about her own fertility woes.

Her emotions got the better of her as she teared up while talking about her struggle.

E! Online reported that she hates it whenever people ask her when she is going to be a mum.

Said Banks on the show: "I am so tired of seeing on my social media, 'Why don't you have kids? Why don't you have kids?'

"You don't know. You don't know what I'm going through.

"When I was 23 years old, I used to tell myself, ‘In three years I'm going to have kids.'

"Then I turned 24. ‘In three years I'm going to have kids.'

"And then just every single year I kept saying that.

"And then, after a while it's like, OK, now I want to—and it's not so easy."

WORK

Banks said that when she was younger, she kept putting off being a mum because of work.

She's the host of the hugely popular reality show America's Next Top Model, which has seen 22 seasons.

The model, now 41, has admitted that she's had a difficult time getting pregnant with her photographer boyfriend Erik Asla, 50.

The couple have been dating for two years.

Of her failed fertility treatments, Banks told People: "It's really difficult.

"I've had some not-so-happy, traumatic moments.

"The one thing that I was not happy about in my life was that I did not have kids."

But Banks is still holding on to hope that one day she will have many children.

She said: "I don't just want one child.

"I'd love a litter. Maybe they'll be running the family business.

"I do want a legacy."
