Lobang King Wang Weiliang romances Hong Kong sweetie pie on screen
Ah Boys To Men star Wang Weiliang has a new love interest.
On the big screen, that is.
And so enamoured with her is the 27-year-old Lobang King that he hopes the movie’s director can “write some intimate scenes” for both of them.
Wang is the male lead of upcoming Mandarin local family comedy Lucky Boy, which revolves around his character Lin Yu’s tumultuous and uneventful life - until he gets to romance Hong Kong sweetie pie actress Venus Wong.
At Lucky Boy’s film commencement ceremony yesterday (Oct 5), Wang said cheekily that while there are currently no intimate scenes with Wong in the script, he hopes director Boris Boo can “write them in”.
Boo jokingly added: “Yah, and if our actor fails to execute those scenes properly, I shall demonstrate them myself.”
Wouldn’t Wang be worried about Wong’s boyfriend — Hong Kong filmmaker-actor Derek Tsang, the son of veteran host-comedian Eric Tsang — being jealous seeing his lady love kissing another guy?
With a huge grin, Wang said: “This is just acting, I’m sure (Tsang) would not mind it one bit.”
Wong, 23, appeared reserved and reticent whenever the conversation drifted to Tsang.
She quipped: “Acting and love are two different matters altogether”.
She was effusive with praises when it came to her new Singaporean co-star though, calling Wang “gentlemanly, caring and quiet”, and that he “fitted her type”.
Lucky Boy, which also stars Chew Chor Meng, Chen Xiuhuan, Melody Low and Terence Then, is slated for release in the second quarter of 2016.
