New Captain America movie trailer asks you to choose sides
Captain America: Civil War trailer pits heroes against heroes
It is friends against friends, heroes against heroes and Avengers against Avengers.
The trailer for Captain America: Civil is out, and it looks to be filled with emotional tussles and over-the-top action sequences.
This is marketed as Steve Rogers' (Chris Evans) third solo outing but judging from the trailer, it can also be Avengers 2.5 considering how many superheroes directors Anthony and Joe Russo (Captain America: The Winter Soldier) have packed into the film.
There's Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr), Natasha Romanoff (Scarlett Johansson), Falcon (Anthony Mackie), Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner), Scarlett Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) and War Machine (Don Cheadle).
We also have the first appearance of Black Panther (Chadwick Boseman), and not forgetting that Spider-Man (Tom Holland) is supposed to make an appearance too. Then there's also Ant-Man (Paul Rudd) and Vision (Paul Bettany).
As teased during Ant-Man’s post-credits, the story picks up with the Cap and Falcon interrogating the Winter Soldier, aka Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan), who's now a fugitive.
The plot revolves around Cap trying to protect his childhood friend, while Iron Man takes the government side led by General Thaddeus 'Thunderbolt' Ross (William Hurt). Thus the rift between friends, and fights between the heroes.
So how does the new villain Baron Zemo (Daniel Brühl) come into the picture? I guess we'll have to wait for the new trailer or next May to find out.
0:51 General "Thunderbolt Ross" is the new government watchdog. His presence connects Edward Norton's The Incredible Hulk (2008) to the new Marvel flicks.
1:51 Meet the Black Panther.
2:04 War Machine is down. Or is he out?
2:13 Iron Man takes on both Cap and the Winter Soldier.
