Gwen Stefani returns to The Voice

The former coach will be back in her red seat

Gwen Stefani is replacing Christina Aguilera as coach in The Voice.

Starting September, the No Doubt front-woman will join fellow coaches Adam Levine, Blake Shelton and Pharrell Williams on the red swivel chairs for the upcoming ninth season of the hit reality singing competition.

“I’m coming back and am so excited! I can’t believe I get to return to The Voice,” Stefani, 45, said in a press release.

Stefani was a coach for Season 7. Aside from Shelton and Levine the show has had a number of coaches join and leave including Usher and Shakira.

Stefani told Entertainment Weekly: “It’s so inspiring to be around such incredible talent and music. I’m looking forward to working again with Adam, Blake and Pharrell. I love those guys.”

Aguilera is taking a break and will be back for the tenth season.

A source told US Magazine: "(Aguilera) has been very vocal about not doing Season 9 to take a break to spend time with her family and her kids."
