Body of five-year-old boy found in M'sian plantation
A five year old boy's body was found by police in Penang seven days after he was first reported missing.
The Star reported that his mother might have accidentally killed him at their house in Kulim before dumping his body in a secluded spot in bushes at an oil palm plantation.
Penang CID chief Senior Asst Comm Mazlan Kesah said the mother had filed a missing persons police report after he went missing on Tuesday.
But she confessed later to hitting her son with a belt for being mischievous and not studying.
The mother, who's in her 30s, had help from her boyfriend in getting rid of her son's body after he died at at 4.30pm on Sept 20.
The case was originally classified as a kidnapping
SAC Mazlan said: "We have now reclassified it as murder. We are still establishing the motive and waiting for a postmortem report.”
