How to choose 'lucky' numbers for the $12million Hong Bao Draw
The top prize for this year's Hong Bao Draw is a whopping $12 million.
That humongous sum has attracted even those who don't normally gamble to try their luck.
At stake? The chance to became an overnight millionaire, several times over, perhaps.
The odds of one being a winner is tiny, of course, 1 in 13.93 million. But that hasn't stopped people from flocking to betting outlets around the island.
The draw will be held at Singapore Pools Building on Friday at 9.30pm.
Last year's $10m prize was shared by six people.
We asked people how they chose their Toto numbers.
Who: Madam Tan, 53, a housewife
How much spent: $10
How she decided on her numbers: An old lady in her dream told her a few numbers
“I dreamt that I bumped into an old lady while climbing the stairs. She told me a few numbers and told me to bet on them.
"I don’t usually buy Toto but the dream was a sign that I had to."
Who: Mr Ng Jeng Hong, 55, a property agent
How much spent: $200
How he decided on his numbers: By scanning through newspapers for numbers
"There were a lot of figures in recent news about the Budget so I used those numbers."
