MAS responds to online negativity

Malaysia Airlines (MAS) posted a picture on its's Twitter account showing a flight that is full on Wednesday (Aug 27). 

This was in response to recent social media posts which supposedly show a virtually empty MAS flight.

Shared by Australian news presenter Ricardo Goncalves, it is being used as the prime example of how the back-​to-​back tragedies of MH370 and MH17 are causing customers to stay away from the beleaguered airline.

A recent LinkedIn​ post by a business professor from Howard University stated that the airline is losing up to US$1.6 million (S$1.9 million) a day.

All this was on top of a recent report which said that there was a glut of cabin crew resignations and that up to a quarter of MAS' 20,000 staff will be laid off under a plan to restructure the Malaysian national airline.

The airline is certainly not giving up without a fight.

It's T​witter account has been re-tweeting tweets from satisfied customers of the airline.

Only time will tell if this if airline, which started out as Malayan Airways in 1947, will be able to weather the financial storm caused by the double disaster of losing two planes in 131 days.
