Mentally-ill man beats elderly father to death
A mentally-ill man beat his elderly father to death in their apartment in China's Yunnan province, reported Shanghai Daily.
The man attacked his father on Monday, beating him black and blue.
He then sought his neighbour's help, saying his father had suffered a fall, reported the paper.
The man, who has a history of mental illness, later confessed he had killed his father.
The man had been staying at a mental health institute, but was taken home in June by his elderly father.
Prior to the fatal attack, the pair had lived together without incident.
Police said the suspect was back at Baoshan District Mental Health Institute, reported Shanghai Daily.
