8,000. This was the number of runners who were at the Singapore Zoo yesterday morning for an annual run to commemorate the orang utan Ah Meng. The Safari Zoo Run was conceived six years ago in honour of Ah Meng, who died of old age in February 2008. The race across the zoo and Night Safari took runners through green paths and animal exhibits.
