One Direction's fans upset over Louis' use of racial slur
One Direction are facing more backlash after the video of two members smoking marijuana was leaked yesterday.
This time, it's not over their drug use. Louis was also caught saying the word 'nig', which is believed to be a shorted version of the N-word.
As seen in the controversial footage, Louis says "It's green only, nig" as a joint is being passed around.
In fact, it seems that fans are more upset over his casual use of the racial slur than their drug use.
Even MP's and anti-racism activitists showed unhappiness over the language used in the video.
John Whittingdale, chairman of the Commons culture, media and sport select committee, called on the disgraced band members to say sorry.
The MP said: "They are adored by many people and they have a responsibility to set an example."
A human rights campaigner Peter Tatchell said: "For black of gay kids to hear these terms bandied about can be really hurtful. They should not be using words that have prejudiced connotations... Their words have influence and impact."
