Singapore's first locally designed and developed commercial satellite will be launched into orbit in the fourth quarter of 2015.
Singapore Technologies Electronics said yesterday that its satellite, TeLEOS-1, is now in the final stages of development.
It will be launched by India's state-owned Antrix Corporation.
The 400kg satellite is equipped with a camera.
It is suited for applications such as disaster and environment monitoring, maritime safety, urban planning and homeland security.
Imagery from the TeLEOS-1 is expected to be commercially available in the first half of 2016.
