Woman 'threw items from flat'

A woman who is suspected to have thrown items such as flower pots, wooden planks and marble tiles from her flat in Hougang since last month was arrested yesterday.

Police had received several reports of items being thrown from Block 694, Hougang Street 61. After investigations, the suspect's identity was determined, the police said.

The 32-year-old will be charged in court today with the offence of committing a rash act. If convicted, she can be jailed for up to six months and fined up to S$2,500.

A court order will be sought to remand her for psychiatric assessment at the Institute of Mental Health.

"The police take a serious view of such dangerous acts that endanger the lives of others and will take swift action against the perpetrators," the news release stated.
