Ouch! Ex-rugby star breaks arm on live TV

What would you do for charity? Two former rugby stars took part in arm wrestling on television.

It ended in pain for both: One walked away with a broken arm and the other walked away vowing never to arm wrestle again.

Former Wallabies player Wendell Sailor was pitted against another rugby star, Ben Ross, during the Iron Arm Challenge segment of The Footy Show on Thursday (June 11).

Midway into the challenge, things went awry.

A "pop" sound can be heard on-air, Ross yelped in pain and the camera quickly pulled back away from the scene.

In the aftermath of the mishap, Sailor said he will never arm wrestle again, The Sydney Morning Herald reported.

"I used to like to do it for fun but I'll never arm wrestle again after seeing what just transpired there," said Sailor.

"Not even for fun, not even with mates," he added.

He tweeted his apologies to Ross after the incident, which the latter accepted.

Ross then shared a picture of the injury post-operation on his Instagram page.
