Police report filed over Pertapis home
The Ministry of Social and Family Development (MSF) has lodged a police report after allegations of physical punishment surfaced at Pertapis Children's Home (PCH) .
Five of the Home's employees have been re-deployed to other Pertapis facilities that do not involve children.
The police, who said the report was made on Monday, have begun investigations into the case.
PCH has been asked to work with MSF on improving its systems and processes, including those on supervision.
Until the review is complete, PCH will not be allowed to admit any new residents.
MSF said that it is providing emotional and psychological support to the affected children and their families.
"The Ministry will not condone or tolerate any conduct or practice that compromises children's safety and well-being," MSF said in a statement.
