Publicise more kind acts

One day last month, I got into a Trans-Cab taxi and found bottles of mineral water in the back seat pocket.

I wondered whether the driver was selling them and asked him about it.

To my surprise, he replied that the water was for passengers who may feel thirsty. They could just pick up a bottle and quench their thirst and he would not charge them for it.

We get so many negative reports about the way Singaporeans behave in public.

It is time we highlighted that there are many like this cabby, who are full of consideration for others.

On another occasion, a total stranger offered me the use of her mobile phone when my phone battery went flat.

Such actions should be publicised by the Singapore Kindness Movement. We do have kind and civilised people living in our little red dot.
