Seven debt collectors nabbed for Funan fracas
The police have arrested seven men, aged between 35 and 48, for allegedly creating a scene at Food Junction at Funan IT Mall on Jan 15 at about 1.20pm.
A police spokesman said preliminary investigations revealed the debt collectors were demanding a loan repayment from one of the stall owners and allegedly prevented customers from patronising from that stall.
The men were nabbed on Feb 12 (Thursday) and Feb 13 (Friday) at various locations island-wide.
Computers, laptops and company documents were seized as evidence.
The seven will be charged in court on Saturday (Feb 14) with unlawful assembly.
If convicted, they can be jailed up to two years or fined, or both.
