Most might recoil in disgust and look the other way on seeing this stray dog with a gaping wound on the right side of its head.

However, a local dog welfare group is offering members of the public monetary rewards for information that might lead to its rescue.

Hope Dog Rescue is willing to pay $200 to anyone who offers a current photo of the injured canine, which has been roaming around the Yishun area.

Anyone who tails the dog and waits with it for members of the group to arrive will receive a $1,000 bounty.

Hope Dog Rescue first sought information on the dog on Oct 3 and believe it is suffering from a severe maggot infestation.

Despite repeated attempts, the group have failed to arrive in time to rescue the dog.

It has advised that anyone who happens to see the dog should avoid actively chasing the dog and follow it from a distance.
