This article is more than 12 months old

A 27-year-old South Korean woman died in May after consuming over 10 glasses of hard liquor here.

On Friday (Nov 6), a coroner's inquiry into Ms Kim Seoa's death revealed that she had participated in a drinking game, in which she and other women could earn $50 for each shot of liquor consumed, at a KTV lounge near Clarke Quay.

Ms Kim, who was here on a social visit pass, had been invited to the Prestige KTV on May 11 by a friend who worked there.

She passed out after participating in the game, during which she drank between 10 and 12 shots, could not be woken up and was later rushed to hospital.

She died on May 13 from alcohol intoxication leading to cardiorespiratory failure.
