Not enough signatures, so Uber driver fails in bid

Uber car driver Sherwin Eu was willing to pay $50 to Bukit Panjang residents to support his candidacy yesterday.
He was trying to make up for not having the required six signatures from residents in his application.
"I didn't read the election handbook," said Mr Eu, 32, who had got his family and friends to sign for him.
He realised the problem when his wife told him about the requirement. But Eu did not approach people and simply waited for a few minutes before giving up on the signatures.
He was disqualified from standing yesterday.
