Starved maid wasn't the first helper to be fed bread, instant noodles
The Lim family had three other maids working for them before Filipino Thelma Oyasan Gawidan, now 40, started working for them on Jan 23, 2013.
The court heard on Wednesday (Dec 16) that the Lims' first maid, an Indonesian known only as Sri, had also complained about only being given bread and instant noodles to eat.
The maid also said she had to wake up at night and sleep during the day.
Testifying in court today, the owner of employment agency A C Toh Enterprises, Mr Toh Ah Choon, said Sri was later transferred out and is now working for another family in Singapore.
The maids' former employer, businessman Lim Choon Hong, 47, allegedly deprived Madam Gawidan of adequate food, causing her to lose weight.
His wife, Chong Sui Foon, also 47, is accused of one count of abetting him in committing the offence.
