Malaysian woman charged in Yishun Ring Road death
A 34-year-old Malaysian woman was charged on Monday (Nov 23) with voluntarily causing hurt using a weapon which led to the death of an elderly man at his Yishun Ring Road flat on Saturday (Nov 21).
Woo Mui Mee allegedly slashed Mr William Wong Keng Woo's left forehand with a paper cutter at about 10pm on Saturday.
Mr Wong, 76, was pronounced dead by paramedics in his three-room HDB flat at about 11.40pm that night.
The New Paper had reported blood splatter was found all over the floor of the unit, and on the walls and common corridor.
Woo was remanded and will be back in court next week.
The prosecution told the court it was very likely the charge might be upgraded.
If convicted, Woo faces up to seven years' jail with a fine.
