This article is more than 12 months old

A school programme executive was jailed 24 weeks on Thursday (Feb 18) for planting his mobile phone in a primary school staff toilet and secretly filming 35 women over two days.

Jondave Ong Han Wei, 25, pleaded guilty to four counts of insulting the modesty of women, with four other similar charges taken into consideration for sentencing.

Court papers said that Ong, who was employed by recruitment firm People Advantage, was working at the primary school in the western part of Singapore.

On Jul 2, 2015, Ong entered a common staff toilet on the ground floor, planted his mobile phone on the sink pipe below the basin and secured it using cable ties.

After switching on the video recording function of his mobile phone and directing it towards the toilet bowl area, he left the toilet.

Court papers said he had employed a similar modus operandi the previous day and secretly filmed 35 women over two days.
