SPH CFO wins award
Mr Tony Mallek (photo) of Singapore Press Holdings (SPH) won the Best Chief Financial Officer award at the Singapore Corporate Awards yesterday.
He won in the large-cap category, which is for companies with a market value of $1 billion or more.
The award recognises chief financial officers (CFOs) who "play a key role in supporting, advocating and promoting good corporate governance, disclosure and transparency".
They are recognised as role models in creating sustainable shareholder value and providing advice in strategic direction.
The winners were evaluated based on their track record and accomplishments, as well as their personal and professional qualities, knowledge and experience.
Mr Mallek, who joined SPH in 2003, said: "I am honoured... It is an endorsement of the financial and investor relations strategies put in place across the SPH group."
