Members of the public are invited to line the route from Parliament House to the National University of Singapore's University Cultural Centre:


1. PARLIAMENT HOUSE

The State Funeral Procession will commence from Parliament House at 2pm and will pass through landmarks of significance to Mr S R Nathan.


2. CITY HALL

Mr Nathan, Singapore's longest-serving president reviewed the National Day Parade here in 2000, 2005 and 2010.

In office, he founded the President's Challenge, which raised more than $100 million for more than 500 beneficiaries between 2000 and 2011.


3. FULLERTON HOTEL

Early in his public service career, Mr Nathan was appointed seamen's welfare officer at the Marine Department at the then Fullerton Building.


4. NTUC CENTRE

Between 1962 and 1965, Mr Nathan served in the Labour Research Unit (LRU), a unit of the National Trades Union Congress (NTUC).

His stint at the LRU was during a time of industrial unrest and political strife. He helped NTUC overcome the challenge posed by pro-communist unions to eventually become the country's main trade union movement.


5. UNIVERSITY CULTURAL CENTRE

A State Funeral Service for Mr Nathan will be held at 3pm at the University Cultural Centre at the National University of Singapore, where he served as Chancellor from 1999 to 2011.
