US destroyer on its way to Japan for repairs

With a patch over the damaged sections of its hull, the guided missile destroyer USS John S. McCain left Changi Naval Base yesterday. The US naval vessel, which collided with an oil tanker in Singapore waters on Aug 21, will be towed to meet the heavy-lift transport vessel MV Treasure, which will take it to Japan for repairs.
