Tearful farewell for dead duo
The bodies of an eight-year-old girl and her 35-year-old mother were given a tearful farewell by family and friends yesterday.
The two were found dead at a Sengkang HDB block on Feb 18. The mother, Madam Koka Sujana, was found lying motionless at the foot of the block. The girl, Koka Lahari, was found motionless in the flat.
Another girl, aged three, was taken to the KK Women's and Children's Hospital as she was vomiting. Her condition is now stable.
Her sister was buried at Choa Chu Kang Cemetery and their mother was cremated at Mandai Crematorium.
Friends and relatives said the woman and her husband, an engineer, had come to Singapore from Hyderabad, India, around eight years ago.
