(Video) 'Dead' girl, 3, wakes up at own funeral
This piece of news is both heartwarming and horrifying.
According to The Philippines Star, a 3-year-old Filipino girl who was pronounced dead a day earlier "woke up" during her church funeral service on Sunday.
A dramatic rescue, caught on film, was triggered when a neighbour saw the girl's head move in her coffin before her eyes opened.
“This prompted them to check and confirmed the girl had a pulse and was alive,” police chief Heidil Teelan told the paper.
The policeman from the Zamboanga del Sur province said the parents of the girl immediately gave her water and took her back to the clinic for a check-up before taking her home.
The child was said to have had a severe fever for days and was taken to a clinic last Friday.
"During that time, the attending clinic personnel and physician confirmed that the young patient had no more pulse and was clinically dead last Saturday morning about 9am," officer Teelan said.
“We really cannot (confirm) the (girl's status) but based on the (police's observation), it appears the girl remained in a state of comatose in their house,” he added.
