Hungry girl, 9, jumps off balcony to find mum
Her mother had locked her in the apartment in the morning, leaving her home alone.
So when the nine-year-old got hungry yesterday (Sept 17) afternoon, she tried to get out of the home and find her mother.
To do that, she decided to jump off the second floor balcony.
The incident, which took place around 1.30pm at the Civil Servants Housing apartment in Putrajaya, left the girl with mouth injuries, Star Online reported.
Her neighbour, who did not want to be identified, heard a loud bang followed by a child's cry.
When she went to investigate, the woman was shocked to see the bleeding girl on the ground.
The woman said:
"(The girl) was crying and asking me to call her mother.
"When I asked why she jumped off the balcony, she said she was scared and hungry, and wanted to go to her mum's office."
Putrajaya police chief ACP Rosly Hassan said the girl was in stable condition after receiving treatment at the Putrajaya Hospital.
