Kaley Cuoco's estranged husband asking for spousal support
Ryan Sweeting has responded to Kaley Cuoco's divorce filing last month.
According to E! News, court documents filed by the tennis player on Oct 15 cited "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for the split, similar to what Cuoco had said in her documents.
However, the dates of separation for both documents differ — Cuoco had stated Sept 3 in hers, while Sweeting's states Sept 25, the date of Cuoco's filing.
Sweeting, 28, is requesting for spousal support and to terminate the court's ability to award support to Cuoco, who is worth an estimated US$5 million (S$6.94 million) from her success on The Big Bang Theory.
Sweeting is also asking his estranged wife to pay for his attorney's fees, as stated in the couple's prenuptial agreement signed a month before they wed less than two years ago.
Kaley's representative told E! News: "Kaley Cuoco and Ryan Sweeting have mutually decided to end their marriage. They ask for privacy at this time. No further statement will be issued regarding this matter."
The 29-year-old actress and the tennis player got married on New Year's Eve of 2013.
Kaley recently posted on her Instagram (under the pseudonym "normancook") in response to rumours that her marriage suffered because she "never got over" her Big Bang Theory co-star Johnny Galecki, whom she dated for about two years until December 2009.
