Malaysian singer Siti Nurhaliza suffers a miscarriage
Malaysian music star Siti Nurhaliza announced on Instagram on Tuesday (Dec 1) that she had suffered a miscarriage.
The 36-year-old singing sensation wrote that she was pregnant for two months when she lost the foetus.
"I don't want to deny the news of my pregnancy as this was a beautiful gift that I have been waiting for a long time," she wrote in Bahasa Malaysia.
"This gift was too new and fragile, I was just waiting for the right time."
“God gave me this gift, I was pregnant for two months and I had a miscarriage.”
Rumours had been circulating since early last month that the superstar was expecting a child.
In her post, she thanked her fans, friends and businessman husband, Khalid Muhd Jiwa, whom she married in 2006, for their support.
She added that her aim is to take some time off and rest before returning to a regular routine.
“After taking time to recuperate, I will go back to my daily activities as per normal."
