US presidential candidates and their celebrity friends
With the US presidential race heating up, so is the star power behind some of these candidates.
Many celebrities are coming out in support of their favourite candidates - hoping to give them a boost.
Pop singer Katy Perry, who has long been a Hillary Clinton supporter, turned up at the Iowa rally on Oct 24.
Any support is crucial for Clinton as she placed third in the Iowa Caucus during her first presidential run in 2008.
Perry performed at the rally in a white strapless gown with a Clinton campaign logo and used the American flag as a cape. She referenced her hit song as she told Clinton's supporters: "She's a firework".
The star also took over Clinton's Instagram account for the day.
Perry is clearly confident that Clinton will succeed Obama as the next president of the United States.
She got Clinton a necklace with the pendant spelling out POTUS - or President of the United States.
Perry is not the only star to have shown support for Clinton.
Here are some other celebs who have endorsed the Democratic candidate.
BEYONCE
The mega star was publicly seen at a fundraiser for Clinton back in May showing that she was indeed supporting Clinton.
This is markedly different from Clinton's first run in 2008 where hip-hop celebrities and Hollywood in general chose to back Obama.
KIM AND KANYE
Clearly trying to connect with the millennial generation, Clinton has also associated herself with one of the world's most famous couples, KimYe.
LENA DUNHAM
Dunham conducted a very pro-Clinton interview with the candidate for the first issue of the actress' newsletter, Lenny.
In the article, Dunham paid homage to Clinton.
She wrote:
"Whether you agree with Hillary's politics or not, she represents something beautiful and all too rare: a woman choosing to say 'No thank you' to societal expectations. A woman who gets up when she's been knocked down, attacked for not just her politics but her marriage and her body. A woman attempting to claim a historically male space and saying, without a trace of apology, 'I can do this, and I deserve this.'"
Celebrities are not only supporting Clinton.
BERNIE SANDERS
They are clearly #feelingthebern (the hashtag of choice) for fellow Democratic candidate Bernie Sanders, who is trailing Clinton in the polls.
Red Hot Chilli Peppers were part of some 100 celebrities who jointly signed a statement endorsing Sanders.
The statement said that the "undersigned artists, musicians and cultural leaders of America" are "excited to endorse a new vision for our country".
It continued: "It's a vision that pushes for a progressive economic agenda."
One of the band's members Flea tweeted:
Actress Susan Sarandon has also made it known who she's rooting for in the presidential campaign.
The Avengers actor Mark Ruffalo, who plays the Hulk in the series, also tweeted his support for the liberal candidate.
On the Republican side, Donald Trump who has been one of two frontrunners in the campaign alongside neurologist Dr Ben Carson, has also been getting celebrity endorsements.
Dennis Rodman, a well-known former NBA player, has tweeted his support for Trump, certainly one of the more polarising candidates in the race so far.
Rodman himself is a known acquaintance of North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un.
