Three motorcyclists in Malaysia were seriously injured after they were hit by a Singapore-registered Toyota Mark X yesterday morning.

The two men and a woman were trying to help some people who were in an earlier accident involving two cars along the North-South Expressway towards Singapore at about 5am, reported the New Straits Times.

They were among a group of motorcyclists who were parked at the roadside.

They were standing on the outermost lane of the expressway, trying to help divert incoming traffic when they were struck by the Singapore car.

Mr Badrotammam Abd Rahim, operation chief of Seremban 2 fire station, said the driver and two children in the Singapore car sustained "minor injuries".

He added that all three motorcyclists were sent to Tuanku Ja'afar Hospital in Seremban.
