His FB was shut down because of his name – Phuc Dat Bich
Although he has been using his real name on Facebook, his account has been shut down multiple times for using a "false and misleading name".
Why? Because his name – Phuc Dat Bich – sounds very much like a swear phrase when pronounced phonetically.
The 23-year-old Australian, who is of Vietnamese descent, said on Facebook earlier this year: "I find it highly irritating the fact that nobody seems to believe me when I say that my full legal name is how you see it.
"I've been accused of using a false and misleading name of which I find very offensive. Is it because I'm Asian? Is it?"
To back up his statement, Mr Bich posted a photo of his passport with his name clearly visible.
The post only went viral last week – 10 months after it was put up – when it was posted on Reddit, an online bulletin board system.
According to the BBC, the correct way to pronounce his name is " Phoo Da Bic "
On Sunday (Nov 22), Mr Bich put up a post to thank his supporters.
He wrote: "I'd like to mention that I am very grateful to those who have been supportive of certain names that populate in different cultures.
"We live in a diverse and multicultural society and the fact that there are people out there who are supportive and encouraging really makes me happy."
