Snowed in? Not a problem for this New Yorker who built an Igloo
Nicknamed "Snowzilla", the east coast of the United States went through a massive blizzard.
But not every one is staying in. One New Yorker, Mr Patrick Horton, 28, and his roommates Justin Seeley and Griff Hones built an igloo and listed it for US$200 (S$286 ) a night on accommodation site, Airbnb.
The Airbnb listing invited people to stay in a "chic dome-style bungalow... built completely by hand, all natural".
The igloo was built in 36 hours over the weekend on Friday and Saturday (Jan 22, 23).
The listing, which has been taken down by Airbnb, has been picked up by many news outlets including Mail Online and ABC News, and has since gone viral.
He said: "We thought people would enjoy it, but we didn't expect all of this."
Mr Horton added: "I don't know if I should be excited or depressed that the greatest thing I have done so far in my life is build an igloo."
The igloo actually looked decent with comfortable blankets, pillows and even some lights.
The listing received five requests before it was taken down.
Airbnb told Mr Horton that the "Boutique Winter Igloo for 2" did not meet the company's "occupancy standard".
They also told Mr Horton: "We are happy to see that you guys are staying busy and having fun during Blizocalypse... As an appreciator of fine igloos around the world, I did want to offer you a coupon that you can use to book your first reservation as a guest."
Airbnb added: "Be sure to pick a place with running water, electricity, and a roof that doesn't melt."
Well, Mr Horton had the last laugh.
"The igloo is still standing," said Mr Horton.
