Watch: Boy, 3, brutally beaten by stranger

A three-year-old boy was brutally beaten by a stranger he crossed paths with in Yan’an City in China's Shaanxi Province.

The incident happened on Monday (May 4) and was caught on a closed-circuit television (CCTV) camera.

Shanghai Daily reported that the boy, who was holding a broom and dustpan, was learning to sweep the floor.

His parents run a store nearby.

In the video, the man can be seen running up to the boy and kicking him.

He stomps on the boy with his right foot many times, before picking up the broom and dustpan and using them to bash the boy.

The man is eventually chased away by a group of people.

The boy suffered a skull fracture.

Sina English reported that the man, who has a history of mental illness, has been arrested.
