Suns ban forward for bad conduct

Phoenix Suns forward Markieff Morris was suspended on Thursday (Dec 24) for two NBA games for what the club called "conduct detrimental to the team".

The punishment was reportedly imposed on Morris for tossing a towel at coach Jeff Hornacek during Wednesday's 104-96 home loss to Denver.

Morris has been unhappy with the Suns since they traded his twin brother Marcus to the Detroit Pistons before the season and dropped him from the starting line-up recently.

Morris played only 12 minutes against the Nuggets and, when he was removed in the fourth quarter, Morris hurled a towel at his coach to express his displeasure.

"He's mad about not playing," Hornacek said.

"I look at the stat sheet. He's a minus-13 in 12 minutes. So there, I took him out.

"He thinks he's better than that. Show me."

Morris will miss games against the Philadelphia 76ers on Sunday morning (Dec 27, Singapore time) and against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Tuesday (Dec 29) morning. - AFP.
