S'porean Suhaila reaches Silat World Championships final
National silat exponent Nurul Suhaila Mohamed Saiful will face Indonesia's Selly Andriani in the women's Class D (60 to 65kg) final of the Pencak Silat World Championships on Wednesday (Jan 14) in Phuket, Thailand.
The 19-year-old Singaporean whitewashed Malaysia's Nurul Ain Sobrab 5-0 in the semi-finals on Tuesday to set up the meeting with Indonesia's top fighter.
While she admitted to feeling some nerves, Suhaila told The New Paper that she was ready to grab her chance to win gold after finishing third in the tournament's previous edition in 2012.
