RACE 1 (1,000M)

HIGHLAND DRAGON (1) was in the thick of the finish in two 1,000m runs at both courses, before dashing clear after straightening for a maiden win over Spicy Shrimp this trip. He can repeat with "Magic Man" Moreira steering, despite gate 12.

SPICY SHRIMP (11) has failed to threaten the winner in his past two 1,000m runs at both courses, but still stayed on reasonably well for seconds. He'll be tactically positioned in the run from gate 5 and will try to turn the tables on a recent second to Highland Dragon.

FLYING KEEPER (9) is coming off a fast-finishing head second to Ray Of Gold over 1,200m at this course. He was successful last term over this trip.

MEGA (12) was a recent third to Highland Dragon over this C&D. Can get up for a minor placing.

RACE 2 (1,200M)

HAPPY CHAMPION (1) has been down in this grade twice this season over this C&D and rallied to miss by a shorthead on each occasion. Must have claims.

PEACEFUL MISSION (11) has been doing some nice work late in both 1,200m sprints at both courses this season, including a C&D sixth behind Calling With Love. Douglas Whyte is waiting to get down to the light weight and must be respected.

DEMON DEMON (4) had excuses last start. He has been a consistent money-spinner, though, including a C&D third behind Domineer. Will be rolling late from a wide gate.

KICK SERVE (2) hasn't been far off the placings in three recent outings at this level, coming back in distance in a grinding seventh to Calling With Love last start over this Valley trip.

RACE 3 (1,200M)

PEARL WIN (3) has been promising, including a closing second last September behind the eventual Class 3 winner Step Faster, before easily dashing clear last month over Fire Starter. He'll need to defy a hefty penalty from a wide gate, but has the potential to head higher.

LUCKY DAY (2) has been beaten by the gate in his past two starts following a Top 3 result in three prior Sha Tin starts, including a 1,200m win on debut. He's got tactical speed to be effective at the Valley.

FRIENDS OF YAN OI (12) has turned things around this season after an overdue C&D win last start over Ray Of Gold, who has franked the form with a win. Capable of holding his own at this level with a light weight.

YO-YO DA (6) makes his course debut. Has made a sound impression to place in his opening two Sha Tin runs over the 1,200m, including a second to Naughty Baby last month. Can consider.

RACE 4 (1,650M)

ABLE MAGIC (5) hasn't had race conditions to suit in his past two starts after giving a decent sight in three others over this C&D, including a closing third to Twin Turbo last October. Can pop up at a price.

WINNING MASCOT (4) has been finding the line well in his past five starts, including a recent fifth behind Golden Addiction when hampered. Will be chiming in late from a wide alley.

STARTING OVER (1) produced mixed results in two outings last month after a drop into Class 4 at both tracks. He was finding the line well in his latest run for a C&D second to Step Faster. Merits attention.

CLASSY VICTOR (6) was always deep in the run with cover in a recent failure. He was knocking on the door in two prior mile runs, including a head second to Keen Tactics. One for the shortlist in his Valley debut.

RACE 5 (1,650M)

EXPECTATOR (7) is still looking to get on the board for the first time. Has been threatening to salute the judge in his past three over this course and distance, including a rallying neck second to Step High and a recent third behind Golden Addiction. A leading chance, if he can strike a bit of luck from gate 11.

PLAIN RED BANNER (2) easily came home on top two runs back over this C&D from Ready To Celebrate. He worked too hard when a fading ninth last time out. In good shape and deserves another shot.

DRAGON PINS (1) kept on evenly with a big weight in a recent fifth behind the smart Redwood Baby over 1,800m. He is hard to ignore off two Valley wins from three other starts this term.

RACE 6 (1,000M)

BRAVENESS (1) bounced back when fitted with a tongue-tie and the blinkers off last start to win going away over this course and distance against similar sort of opposition. A leading chance, despite top weight.

FANTASTICO (9) kept plugging away from midfield in a recent C&D fourth behind Braveness, following an effortless all-the-way win in Class 4. Must be a chance.

ST YAZIN (6) didn't rally as expected in a recent eighth behind Braveness, but had been hard to fault when getting home first and twice second from as many other course-and-distance efforts this term. Can't be written off.

EASTERN PROMISE (7) needs a lift after his past two starts, including a seventh last start behind Braveness. He had been threatening with prominently-ridden place performances over this trip in three prior starts. A place hope.

RACE 7 (1,200M)

RAINBOW FIGHTER (2) flashed home for two wins and a second over this course and trip. He then shook off a luckless effort last month with a near victory over Happy Yeah Yeah last Wednesday. Hard to keep out.

OVETT (8) had been threatening to score twice at Sha Tin and just failed to hold off London Walk last month over this Valley trip. A main danger.

BOTH SURE (3) got his local career off to a flying start with a handily ridden course-and-distance win. He wasn't properly tested two runs later when sixth to Rainbow Fighter. He had a bout of inappetance in late December, but hasn't missed a beat in training since.

STRONG FOUNDATION (10) quickened to win a trial last month following a pleasing debut last October when rallying for a seventh behind Super Jockey. The sleeper.

RACE 8 (1,650M)

APPROVE (1) continued his fine form over the Sha Tin mile 10 days back when only shaded close to home by the exciting Mr Gnocchi. He has already proven his worth at the Valley when finding only Pleasure Gains too good last October. Hard to run down, despite a wide alley.

CLASSIC JEWELLERY (2) has been hard to fault in three C&D runs this term, including a prominently-ridden second-up win over Royal Partner. He found a few too good up in grade in a recent fourth to Chater Dream. He'll make it a thriller on the line.

HO IN ONE (4) is looking to open up his options with a switch to the Valley but has been hard to fault in three of five starts over the 1,400m this term, including a win, two placings and an excusable last-start sixth. Can't be taken lightly.

TRUMP (11) beat nothing in a recent mile win at Sha Tin, but had held on third-best in two prior outings over this Valley trip. Can't be faulted fitness-wise.
