Gerrard wants Redknapp to name England dodgers
In terms of pride and passion, there are few footballers who can match Steven Gerrard.
When the England captain was asked about Harry Redknapp's shocking revelation about Tottenham players wanting to be pulled off England duty during his time at the club, the Liverpool midfielder was distinctly unimpressed.
And Gerrard wants the QPR manager, who was at White Hart Lane for four years from 2008 to 2012, to cough up the names of the shirkers to shame them for their disgraceful attitude.
Speaking to reporters at England's World Cup training base in Rio de Janeiro, the 34-year-old said: "If Harry is making a comment like that, he should name them and embarrass them. No-one in this group wants to go home.
"If it's the case, it’s disgusting. For me, if a player doesn’t want to be here, he doesn't deserve to be here at a World Cup.
"'They didn't want to play for England. Who? Name them. Is it Aaron Lennon? Kyle Walker? Andros Townsend? I don't know who he means. Five years ago? Ten years ago?"
Heaven help the poor souls when Stevie G finds out who they are.
