Liverpool legend Ronnie Whelan gets into a muddle on Twitter
The advent of social media has helped turn many former players into instant pundits.
Unfortunately, not all former footballers are completely clued in to the workings of social media.
Former Liverpool and Ireland star Ronnie Whelan scored an own goal on Twitter with a cut-and-paste job gone wrong.
Requested by Bulmer’s PR to ask his 12,400 followers how his country’s crucial Euro 2016 clash with Germany would pan out, this is what he tweeted.
Whelan quickly deleted the tweet but quick-thinking Twitter users of course screen grabbed it.
