Man who kicked Young Lions out of SEA games on trial with Spanish club
Indonesian player Evan Dimas Darmono is on trial with Spanish side UE Llagostera.
If the name is familiar, that's because Evan was the man who scored the goal that knocked Singapore out of the 2015 South-east Asian Games (SEA).
The game finished 1-0 to Indonesia and the Young Lions, who needed a win to progress to the semi-final, were kicked out of the tournament.
The loss also led coach Aide Iskandar to step down from his post.
Evan Dimas' career, meanwhile, has been on the uptick.
According to Football Channel Asia, UE Llagostera has had their eye on the 20-year-old since he played in Indonesia's U-19 squad in a friendly with Barcelona's B team.
The central midfielder, who plays for Persebaya Surabaya in East Java, was described by UE Llagostera in a note on their official website as "one of the most promising talents in his country".
On Monday (Aug 10), the player posted a picture of himself with Oriol Alsina, the coach of the Spanish third division side.
While UE Llagostera is a bit of a hop from the La Liga, we wish him all the best.
