Schuerrle out, Cuadrado in at Chelsea?
Chelsea are on the brink of selling Andre Schuerrle and signing Juan Cuadrado.
If the move for Cuadrado is completed in time, the 26-year-old Colombian could play in Sunday morning’s (Singapore time) Premier League clash against Manchester City at Stamford Bridge.
Blues boss Jose Mourinho wants to offload Schuerrle in a deal worth approximately £27 million ($55m) to help cover the cost of meeting Cuadrado’s release clause at Fiorentina.
And, while Wolfsburg have denied they are willing to pay that amount to bring the 24-year-old German back to the Bundesliga, Borussia Dortmund seem ready to splash the cash.
Ideal
Dortmund coach Juergen Klopp sees Schuerrle as the ideal replacement for Marco Reus, who is expected to leave in the summer.
Chelsea are also targeting Douglas Costa, with reports claiming a £15m bid for the Brazilian forward being rejected.
But the Shakhtar Donetsk star is cup-tied for the Champions League and the Blues may cool their interest once the deal for Cuadrado is finalised.
