Suarez baffled by Ballon d'Or snub
Luis Suarez is puzzled by his Ballon d'Or snub - but he would rather keep his thoughts to himself.
Prior to joining Barcelona, the Uruguayan forward enjoyed a splendid season with Liverpool as the long-suffering Reds secured a second-place finish in the English Premier League.
Suarez scored 31 league goals in the process to make him the joint-top scorer in Europe with Real Madrid's Cristiano Ronaldo.
Despite his on-pitch brilliance, the 27-year-old was left out of the 23-man shortlist of the world's best players for the Ballon d'Or 2014.
Frustrated
While many speculate that Suarez's bite on Giorgio Chiellini at the World Cup had cost him a shot at football's highest individual honour, the man himself isn't keen to discuss the subject at length for fear of reprisal from football's world governing body Fifa despite his frustration.
Speaking to Spanish radio station RAC1, Suarez said: "Everyone brings it to attention, as Gerard Pique said, and what he told me is that they voted me as the best player in the most difficult league in the world, or one of the most difficult.
"I was also the highest goalscorer of all of the European leagues.
"But I prefer to keep quiet before saying things because every time that I speak there could be a problem."
