Van Gaal the entertainer steals show
It was Louis van Gaal like you’ve never seen him before.
Forget the stoic version you’ve seen on the touchline or the bristling man who journalists have to encounter at post-match press conference.
At Manchester United’s annual awards gala, it was van Gaal the entertainer who stole the show.
He sang along to his own terrace chant while signing autographs, playfully slapped his assistant Ryan Giggs at the back of his head when the Welshman outbid him for a round of golf with Dwight Yorke, and demanded the crowd give a female saxophonist a standing ovation.
United legend Gary Neville said he cracked up watching the Dutch coach in action, calling it, “One of the best/funniest 20 mins I’ve ever had!”.
Don’t believe it? Take a look for yourself.
