Knee injury forces Lallana out for six weeks
He started his journey at his new home in Anfield just four days ago but luck just wasn't on his side.
Adam Lallana recently made the £23.6million (S$49.7 million) transfer from Southampton to Liverpool and he's already been told to sit out for at least six weeks.
The Telegraph reported that the 26-year-old attacking midfielder suffered a lateral collateral ligament damage during training at Liverpool’s Harvard base in Boston on Thursday (July 24) and has been given the red-light for game time.
Lallana, who has a brace on his knee, is slated to miss the first three games of the Barclays Premier League which includes a home clash with his old club and trips to Manchester City and Tottenham, reported Mail Online.
He is also likely to miss the opening Euro 2016 qualifier away to Switzerland, the publication added.
Luckily for the new boy, test results confirmed that surgery wasn't required. If it was, Lallana would have been looking at a minimum absence of four months.
Just another case of bad cards dealt to Liverpool.
